Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy explains how [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("North Fork TV Festival," "NFTV," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit northfork.tv (the "Site"), subscribe to our newsletter, purchase festival passes, submit work to our competition, inquire about sponsorship, or attend our events (collectively, the "Services").

If you have questions about this policy, contact us at [PRIVACY EMAIL] or [MAILING ADDRESS].

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Give Us

Newsletter subscription. When you subscribe through the form on our Site, we collect your first name, last name, and email address.

Festival passes and tickets. Ticket sales are processed by Eventbrite, a third-party platform. When you purchase a pass, you provide your information directly to Eventbrite under Eventbrite's own privacy policy. We receive from Eventbrite a limited set of attendee data — typically name, email address, pass type, and order details. We do not collect, process, or store your payment card information.

Competition submissions. Pilot and script submissions are handled through FilmFreeway. Information you provide during submission — including your name, contact details, project materials, and any biographical information — is collected by FilmFreeway and shared with us for judging and programming purposes. FilmFreeway's own privacy policy governs their handling of your data.

Sponsorship and press inquiries. If you contact us about sponsorship, press, or general questions, we collect the information you choose to send, such as your name, company, email address, phone number, and the content of your message.

Event participation. If you appear as a guest, panelist, moderator, honoree, or volunteer, we may collect additional information such as a biography, headshot, representation contacts, and travel or accessibility details you provide.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Our Site is built and hosted on Framer. When you visit, our hosting provider and analytics tools may automatically collect:

  • IP address and approximate location (city/region level)

  • Browser type, device type, and operating system

  • Pages viewed, time spent, referring URLs, and links clicked

  • Date and time of your visit

2.3 Photography and Video at Events

The North Fork TV Festival is photographed and recorded. By attending, you acknowledge that your image, likeness, and voice may be captured and used as described in Section 4 and in our Terms of Service.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking essential cookies may cause parts of the Site to stop working correctly. We do not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, as no common standard for them has been adopted.

[Note: if you add a cookie consent banner, describe it here and link to the preference control.]

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Send festival announcements, programming updates, and newsletters you've subscribed to

  • Fulfill pass purchases and provide attendee support

  • Administer the Pilot and Script Competition, including judging, notifying winners, and promoting selected work

  • Respond to sponsorship, press, and general inquiries

  • Plan, produce, and staff the festival

  • Promote the festival and future editions, including through photography, video, social media, press materials, and recaps

  • Understand how our Site is used and improve it

  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents

  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. How We Share Information

We share personal information only as described below.

Service providers. Companies that perform services on our behalf, including our website host (Framer), email marketing platform, ticketing platform (Eventbrite), submission platform (FilmFreeway), analytics providers, and our public relations agency (Brandsway Creative). These providers may use your information only to perform services for us.

Festival partners and sponsors. We may share aggregate, de-identified attendance and engagement data with sponsors. We do not share your name or email address with sponsors unless you separately opt in — for example, by entering a sponsor's giveaway or visiting a sponsor activation that collects information directly.

Venues and vendors. Where necessary to produce the event, such as sharing attendee counts with venues or accessibility requests with venue staff.

Competition juries and programmers. Submitted materials and associated creator information are shared with our jurors, programmers, and — for selected work — industry professionals attending the festival, consistent with the competition rules.

Legal and safety. When we believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of NFTV, our attendees, or others.

Business transfers. If the festival or its operating entity is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6. Your Choices

Email. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You may also email [PRIVACY EMAIL] to be removed. We may still send you transactional messages related to a pass you purchased or a submission you entered.

Access, correction, and deletion. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [PRIVACY EMAIL] with your request. We will verify your identity before acting and will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Ticket and submission data. Because Eventbrite and FilmFreeway are independent controllers of the data you provide them, you should also direct requests about that data to those platforms directly.

7. State Privacy Rights (U.S.)

If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose

  • Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information

  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share)

  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

To exercise any of these rights, contact [PRIVACY EMAIL]. You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may require proof of authorization. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response, and we will provide a written explanation of our decision.

8. If You Are Outside the United States

Our Services are operated from the United States. If you submit work, subscribe, or purchase a pass from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing are: your consent (newsletter, optional marketing), performance of a contract (fulfilling pass purchases and competition entries), our legitimate interests (operating and promoting the festival, securing our Site), and legal obligation. You may withdraw consent at any time and have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

9. Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy. In practice:

  • Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe, plus a short suppression period so we don't re-add you

  • Attendee records: for the duration of the festival year plus [X] years for accounting and planning

  • Competition submissions and related records: [X] years, so we can maintain the historical record of selections and winners

  • Inquiries: [X] years after the matter is resolved

Photography and video created for promotional use may be retained indefinitely as part of our archive.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, and we rely on established third-party platforms with their own security programs for ticketing and payments. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children's Privacy

The Site and Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact [PRIVACY EMAIL] and we will delete it. Minors may attend the festival where permitted by the venue and event, but passes must be purchased by a parent or legal guardian.

12. Third-Party Links

Our Site links to third-party services including Eventbrite, FilmFreeway, Facebook, Instagram, lodging partners, and sponsor websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Review their policies before providing information.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated through the Site or by email to subscribers. Your continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated through the Site or by email to subscribers. Your continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
