Executive Committee

Alan Doyle, EdD - President

Alan is the President of the North Fork TV Festival. Alan was the Director of Education at Fountain House, New York, where he oversaw an international training institute for social practice in psychiatric recovery that was originally developed at Fountain House and has since been replicated worldwide. Previously as the Assistant Director for a regional vocational school on Long Island, New York, he provided occupational training to adults and high school students and literacy education to immigrants. While there, he also created an alternative high school for disaffected teenagers. He has served as the liaison of the Massachusetts State Education Commissioner to the state’s congressional delegation in Washington DC and was a teacher of Latin in the Great Neck Public Schools, New York. He is the co-author of Fountain House (New York: Columbia University Press, 2013) and holds a Doctorate from Harvard University Graduate School of Education. He is retired and currently living in Greenport NY.

Jonathan Shafter — Treasurer and Co-Founder

Jonathan is the Treasurer and Co-Founder of the North Fork TV Festival. He’s also an investment manager with Clear Harbor Asset Management and is the CEO of Red Avengers, a media production company. Before that, he was a Managing Director at Christofferson, Robb and Company, where he was Portfolio Manager of a hedge fund investing long-short in financial sector securities across the capital structure, with a focus on subordinated debt and hybrid securities. He previously served on the United States Inter-Agency Committee on Global Markets, a fellow of the Truman National Security Project, and on the Advisory Board of the World Policy Institute. He holds B.A. and M.A. degrees in Political Science from Brown University (Phi Beta Kappa) and a J.D. from Columbia Law School with certification from the Parker School of International and Comparative Law as a James Kent Scholar. In his free time, he is an avid Kendo practitioner.

Noah Doyle — Secretary and Founder

Noah is the Secretary and Founder of the North Fork TV Festival. He also leads Battery Park Financial Partners. Previously, Doyle led Doyle & Associates at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management and began his career at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, formerly Citigroup Smith Barney. Noah was named to Forbes’ 2018 list of America’s Top 1,000 Next-Generation Wealth Advisors. A graduate of Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations and Brooklyn Law School, he is admitted to practice law in the bar of the State of New York, where he lives with his wife and two daughters.

Mike Stern — Artistic Director

Mike is the Artistic Director of the North Fork TV Festival. A veteran story analyst for Sony, WME, Broken Road Productions, Signature, and Resolution – Stern now writes and produces full time for Astral Plane. His film Mid-Century won Best Picture at the 2022 L.A. Film Festival. He wrote and produced the critically acclaimed social thriller which had a limited theatrical release by Lionsgate and is now streaming on Peacock. A WGA screenwriter, Stern is actively developing the feature films Fake Friends, Maybe You’re the One, And Hell Followed With Him and Night Terrors, in addition to co-writing and executive producing American Horseman based on the acclaimed public radio podcast “Ride of Passage”and the Untitled Treasure Hunt Series for AMC Networks. He earned a BA in Film and Screenwriting from the University of Michigan where he was the winner of the Hopwood Literary Award, Alice Webber Glover Playwriting Grant, the Trueblood Fellowship, and the UTA Screenwriting Award. As an actor Stern has appeared in Mid-Century, Out of the Furnace, Edge of Tomorrow and Jack Reacher – where he served as the stand-in for Tom Cruise.

Mike Stern - Artistic Director

Allison Dorenbosch - Judge

Allison Dorenbosch sparked an interest in comedy at a very young age. She joined her first improv troupe at 15, and began producing and directing her own shows before high school graduation. After receiving a Bachelor’s of Arts in Film Studies from UCSB, Dorenbosch assisted various agents and producers (as one does), before joining the current series team at Disney Channel and Disney XD. There her knack for comedy was appreciated, as Allison functioned as a point executive on live action single and multi-camera series for kids. From there, Allison transitioned to her current role as a Live Action Producer at Moonbug Entertainment, where her focus shifted to the preschool space. Allison now orchestrates domestic and international shoots, produces tentpole episodes, encourages a jovial and safe set, travels way too much, and navigates the ever-evolving digital landscape.

Todd Lituchy - Judge

With over 20 years experience in the Television industry, Lituchy established New Media Vision in 2009. New Media Vision is a rapidly growing business with a program catalogue of over 10,000 hours, scripted & unscripted formats from around the world, and projects currently in production in the U.S. and throughout Europe. Prior to the launch of his company, Lituchy worked at NBC, Lifetime Television, Viacom, and Nielsen.

Merrick Stone - Judge

Merrick Stone is a network creative executive with 10+ years’ experience leading development and production of top-rated nonfiction series. Having started her career as an intern and production assistant at VH1, working on pop culture series such as “One Hundred Greatest Artists of All Time” and “VH1’s Best Week Ever,” she has grown into her current role as Director and Co-Executive Producer of Unscripted Series at MTV Entertainment Studios where she has developed and produced the GLAAD Award-winning series “Are You The One?” Having produced a variety of reality format series for MTV, she has expanded her content slate to include documentary and factual programming for Smithsonian Channel. Merrick is passionate about crafting high production value unscripted narratives that foster social impact and invite audiences on a journey of global discovery.

Mike Stern - Artistic Director

Oanh-Nhi Nguyen - Judge

Oanh-Nhi Nguyen is a film director and activist with 10 years of working for gender and racial justice. Her first episodic documentary, TAKING ROOT: Southeast Asian Resettlement Stories in Philadelphia, is an official selection for the Tribeca Festival in 2023. Her comedy pilot, UNACCEPTABLE, was accepted into the 2022 Athena’s Writers Lab. Oanh-Nhi is currently a second year Directing Fellow at the highly selective AFI Conservatory. Before filmmaking, Oanh-Nhi specialized in storytelling, digital organizing, and philanthropy. Her interest in ending violence against women and girls started in college, where she developed a documentary on sexual violence survivors and organized a youth-led violence prevention program. As a former digital organizer, Oanh-Nhi has mobilized thousands of Asian Americans online. She has also created funds to resource nonprofits, totaling $11 million for girls and women of color and AAPIs.

JT Tsou - Judge

JT Tsou is a queer, mixed-race Brooklyn based writer/director/producer for TV/film live-action and animation, and theater. She has writing and production credits for companies such as NBCU, Paramount+, Disney, FOX, Netflix, Nickelodeon, PBS Kids, etc. Growing up first-generation in a large East Asian Indigenous-Italian American immigrant household, it is JT's continuous goal and passion to champion and tell diverse stories from diverse lenses that not only entertain, inform, and excite, but that are also thought-provoking and bridge divergent worlds. JT loves creating and working on a wide variety of projects in many different genres (comedy, rom-com, horror, dramedy, dark comedy, drama, etc.). When she's not writing, out dying on a run, or on set, JT is stopping to pet and love up on all the dogs in Brooklyn.

Kristine Patnugot - Judge

Kristine Patnugot is a Manila-born, Detroit-grown writer/producer. Crafted in LA and NY editing rooms, Kristine’s journey shaped an acute awareness of character and story. Her work draws on emotion and focuses on the liminal experience, the in-between, and moments of becoming as pertains to the intersections of ethnicity, race, class and gender. As a creator of the VH1 series TRANSform Me and producer/writer of the documentary, Style Exposed: Born Male, Living Female for the Style Network, Kristine’s work helped open the doors for transgender women of color on mainstream television, with TRANSform Me earning a GLAAD nomination for Outstanding Reality Program. For two decades, she worked in documentary, television, and commercials for HBO, PBS, CBS, A&E, National Geographic, Discovery, and others. Now Detroit based, Kristine continues to pitch and develop ideas and works with local nonprofits producing, writing, and directing PSAs and political ads encouraging civic engagement. She is committed to increasing access for and amplifying the stories of women, immigrant, BIPOC and LGBTQIA+. Kristine has a BA in Film and Political Science from the University of Michigan and MA in Communication, Culture and Technology from Georgetown University.

Aidan Largey - Judge

Aidan is the Writer/Director of numerous award winning shorts, with commissioned work for BBC, BBC3 and RTE. He created the crime series FARR for RTE and the Irish Film Board, which debuted to Number 1 twice on the RTE Player with the highest ratings of any Storyland series. It was also critically successful, winning BEST DRAMA from ITVFest. It was also awarded BEST ORIGINAL DRAMA PILOT and BEST DIRECTOR at SERIES FEST by a judging panel of SXSW, Lucasfilm and the Lincoln Film Centre in New York and is now in development as a long form series. Following this, Aidan directed the Northern Ireland Screen short 'Time and Again’, which received a successful festival run to excellent reviews including Film School Rejects and Cinephilia and Beyond before being distributed via Omeleto. Aidan then directed new episodes of THE BREAK series for BBC3 and ‘Last Night In Belfast’ and ‘Binbagged’ (Nominee for Best Short at Celtic Media Festival) for BBC3 as well as “Eat The Rich’ for RTE Storyland. He was selected for the prestigious David Puttnam Scholarship then directed 20 episodes of the first series of Channel5/Milkshake’s MIMIS WORLD. His latest work is the final 5 episodes of YA sci fi drama SILVERPOINT Series 2 for BBC and HULU. He is currently in development with Causeway Pictures and Northern Ireland Screen on debut feature thriller MONSTER(s) with Archie Renaux (ALIEN: Romulus, Morbius, NETFLIX's Shadow and Bone series) attached to star.
